5 years ago, on December 28, 2016, the movers came and packed up our condo in Roslindale, MA and I drove up to my parents in Lynnfield, MA to stay with them until I left on January 1, 2017 to drive cross country, solo, from Massachusetts to Las Vegas.

Exactly 2 months before, on October 28, 2016, Eric and I permanently closed the doors to our gym.

8 days later, on November 5, 2016, Eric left Massachusetts to drive cross country, solo, to Las Vegas to start working for Cirque du Soleil.

For the first time in 6 years, we would spend the holidays apart.

We had just spent 18 months in litigation fighting our gym’s first landlord over a contractual dispute and just when it looked like we were going to win, a new judge, who had a relationship with the landlord stepped in, and we lost.

In order to save our house, which was signed as a personal guarantee on the lease, we were forced to file for both business and personal bankruptcy.

It was a weird time, full of opposing emotions…

Relief that the fight was over.

Excitement for the fresh start.

Freedom to enjoy the holidays with my family without the burden of the gym, debt, and a lawsuit.

Incredible love from family and friends during the most WONDERFUL time of the year AND one of the hardest times of our lives.

I also felt fear, shame, failure, and tremendous uncertainty… but I did not focus on these feelings.

Instead I focused on the love that surrounded me, the joy I felt to spend time with my family before my cross country pilgrimage, and the opportunity that was ahead of me, even if it was filled with uncertainty.

Abundance is not about all the things you have, but instead all the love you have in your life.

The craziest thing was that despite the fact that I was living in the biggest VOID of my life, Christmas and New Year’s of 2016 was one of the BEST holiday seasons I had ever had.

Your true power shows itself when you are living in the void – the gap between where you are in the present and where you truly want to be.

Life IS duality… and POWER is when you turn to love.

If you can navigate the void with love and faith, then you are truly powerful.

As we approach the final day of 2021, I’m sending you all the vibes so that you step into your most powerful year yet in 2022.
