✅Prioritize sleep 7-9 hours per night (I go to bed early!)
✅Abstain from alcohol (your nightly wine habit 🍷🙅🏻♀️is not helping you sleep, lose weight, build muscle, or optimize your metabolism!)
✅Prioritize self-care
Yes, I treat myself once in a while to a dinner out, dark chocolate (min 70% cacao)🍫, dessert🍪 (I am total cookie monster and love desserts😋!), and the occasional Moscow Mule🍹 (my favorite alcoholic beverage, HOWEVER, it’s been at least two months since I had a drink).
⚖️90% of the time I follow my plan, and 10% of the time, I treat myself.
Managing night sweats and hot flashes, minimizing bloat and inflammation, and maintaining health, fitness, strength, muscle, and movement over 45 is HARD! I KNOW💁🏻♀️, I’m 48!
Just because I look fit doesn’t mean I don’t struggle. I have my days and my weeks. HOWEVER, I stay fit because I am consistent when it comes to prioritizing my health.
After I turned 45 and the shit hit the fan with my hormones going rogue, I studied and applied the latest research on fitness, health, and hormone balance for women who are on the spectrum of peri to postmenopausal and worked to figure out how to feel good, build muscle, move well, and stay strong not just over 40, but especially over 45 and into your 50’s and beyond.
Your nutrition and lifestyle affect your hormone balance, how your genes express themselves, and not only your lifespan, but more importantly your healthspan – i.e. your quality of life as you age.
I want a long healthspan to match my lifespan so I will do everything in my power to achieve that!
