Happily Ever After

For the past few months I’ve been off the blog wagon and busy with personal life things, as after 8.5 years Eric and I finally got hitched on the Big Island of Hawai’i on July 8, 2018! Here’s one pic and one of the posts from the big day… For more photos check out my Instagram profile @IronBodyByArtemis. Enjoy! 😀 ❤

Happily Ever After…
❤️
I met Eric 8 ½ years ago. At the time dating & a relationship was not a priority for me. At age 34 I was focused on building my training business & comfortable being by myself & with the notion that I could be single for the rest of my life, because men suck .
❤️
After a month of communicating via email, text & phone, we finally went out for our first date. Although he was traveling with the BU Basketball Team during that month, I still did not make it easy for him. In fact, I almost cancelled our first date. It was the first Friday in February 2010 & a bitter cold winter night in Boston. I just wanted to stay home & go to sleep.
❤️
I made myself go out to meet him. I was about a ½ hour late for our date but he waited patiently for me at the restaurant. As I walked into Eastern Standard on Beacon Street in Boston & approached the table where Eric sat, he stood up & beamed from ear to ear with his beautiful smile as his blue shirt light up his bright blue eyes. In that moment, I was so happy I decided not to cancel.
❤️
I left the restaurant that night thinking, that was the best date I ever had & I wanted to continue to get to know him better. We had so much to talk about, more than just kettlebells .
❤️
Eric is one of those men who are an Urban Myth in that he makes reservations, writes thoughtful long emails, sends cards, & so many other things. He is a true gentleman. I had heard about these men, but I did not know they really existed, & now I was dating one.
❤️
We had wanted to get married for a long time, but owning a business together interfered with this, as all of our time & money when into our business rather than our personal lives.
❤️
When we closed our business we made getting married a priority. After vacationing on the Big Island of Hawaii last summer, we knew this was the place that we wanted to get married as not only is it amazing but also it represented a new chapter of our lives together.
❤️
One year later on 7/8/18 we made it happen & it was perfect. At no other time in our relationship could we have made this event happen the way we did this past weekend. 8 ½ years was the perfect amount of time to build what we needed to build to celebrate committing to #forever with one another.
❤️
I love you Eric Gahan. You are my partner forever, in life, love, & friendship.
❤️
