BEHIND THE SCENES of the MASSIVE Imperfect Action that grew my online business to $100k in 10 months…
Two years ago, on February 7, 2019, I took one single MASSIVE action to grow my online business to $100k in 10 months.
NOTHING about this action was perfect.
In fact, it was absolutely IMPERFECT.
In December 2018 I had invested in a business group coaching program to transition my part-time online fitness coaching business to full-time and to grow my annual revenue to $100k.
I spent January learning and planning and then had an inspired moment at the VERY END of January 2019 that helped me to finalize my 1:1 high ticket offer.
I wanted to take action immediately and launch it, EXCEPT, the timing was horrible.
Although, since I was still working for Cirque du Soleil as the strength and conditioning coach for their show KÀ AND training people in-person out of my garage, while balancing working to grow my part-time online coaching business to a full-time gig, NO TIME was EVER perfect.
On that particular day that I launched my 1:1 coaching offer, it was a Thursday and as a StrongFirst Team Leader, I was scheduled to lead a team that entire weekend at the very first Las Vegas StrongFirst Level 1 Kettlebell Certification.
The certification started on Friday and on that Thursday all the team leaders and assistants were scheduled to meet for a pre-certification meeting and to test out all the assistant instructors.
A huge snowstorm had delayed the Master Instructor’s flight to Vegas and had delayed the delivery of the kettlebells for the certification, changing both to arrive on Friday morning.
We needed kettlebells for the assistant instructor’s testing AND for the first few hours of the morning of the certification on Friday until the kettlebell delivery arrived.
As a Team Leader and Vegas local, I coordinated with other local StrongFirst instructors and we gathered all of our personal kettlebells and then met Thursday evening at the certification site.
It was a bit of a sh*t show, but we got it under control.
Amidst the chaos, I still wanted to launch my new 1:1 offer.
Even though that day seemed like I shouldn’t bother, I knew on some level that the universe was aligning for me to announce this offer, because a few days after I had finalized my offer I had a call with a strength coach colleague who wanted to work with me.
I shared the offer with her and she signed up and paid in full before I formally announced it.
Because of the unplanned insanity of that day, I ended up posting the announcement and sending out the email late that afternoon and then had to leave immediately for the certification site knowing full well that I would not have time to respond to any inquiries until Sunday evening after the certification.
I had no idea what kind of response I would get, BUT I knew I had to pull the trigger and take action if I wanted to achieve my goals that year.
It was now or never, perfect or not.
I ended up filling all 5 spots that I had available in less than 10 days.
THEN, so that I could focus 100% on my full-time online business, I left my position at Cirque and let go of my garage gym in-person clients, 9 months earlier than planned!
Within 10 months, I grew my online business’ gross annual revenue from $30k – $100k.
AND THEN, about one year from that day, on February 10, 2020, I publicly announced my pivot to business coaching.
As a result, now my husband, Eric, and I run a multiple 6-figure business (and growing), helping other Fitness Professionals and coaches build their 6-figure+ online businesses.
Imperfect action trumps perfect inaction any day, any time, no matter if the offer and the timing are perfect, because honestly, they never will be.
You just have to take imperfect action that will take you one step closer to achieving your goals.
