💪🏽The 10’s – I Love/Hate Running

Age 14: After studying classical ballet since I was 3 ½ years old, I started to fall out of love with ballet. I played one short-lived season of Field Hockey as a high school freshman and stumbled upon running and my love/hate relationship with it.

Age 15: I discovered the StairMaster, Nautilus equipment, watched Terminator 2 and became obsessed with building “Linda Hamilton arms”.

💪🏽20’s – Cardio, Cardio, Cardio

I continued to take ballet classes, run, lift weights, and added step classes at Bally’s Total Fitness where I would often take two classes in a row, always secure a front row spot, stack the risers as high as I could handle it without face planting, and perform the routines like I was competing in the step olympics with an award for the best beat step.

Age 27: I hung up my ballet slippers to study kung fu and my world of fitness as I knew it changed forever as I started to focus on what I could do versus on how I looked.

I also obtained my spin instructor certification and started teaching spin classes to build a career in the fitness industry.

💪🏽30’s – Strong, Stronger, Strongest

I honed my fitness instructor+trainer skills, got my black belt in kung fu, discovered kettlebells, got really serious about strength training, achieved “Arms-Like-Artemis”, and crushed some serious superhuman strength goals.

Age 32: I left my corporate consulting job to work full-time in the fitness industry .Fitness+Strength became not just my career, but my LIFE.

Age 35: I learned about the kettlebell Iron Maiden Challenge and decided to see if I could complete the challenge as a lightweight.

Age 38: After training for the IM for 3 years, I became superhuman strong in the process, and finally completed it.

Age 39: I competed in my first powerlifting meet and deadlifted 300lbs.

💪🏽40’s – Stay Strong, Feel Good

Age 40: I competed in my second powerlifting meet and squatted 215lbs.

Age 41: I trained myself to deadlift 315lbs.

After that, I noticed the biggest shift physically and mentally when I turned 45, and right now at age 48, my goals are to stay strong, move well, feel good, stay lean, and enjoy my workouts.
