Is Your Protein Bar Really High In Protein?

Protein Bar Hack 👉🏽 Is your protein bar REALLY high in protein?

All too often I see clients defaulting to protein bars for a quick snack without reading the label for the macro balance or ingredients.

These days, many protein bars are filled with extra, not-so-great, ingredients and are higher in fats and carbs than actual protein, and are more like a candy bar then a “protein” bar.

I think protein bars are fine once in a while if you are traveling or have a busy day of errands or running around.

But in general I recommend preparing quick, high protein, healthy whole food snacks in advance vs. ultra processed protein bars.

To check if your favorite protein bar is actually high in protein vs. more like a candy bar and high in fats in carbs, try this hack👇🏽

1️⃣ From the label, take the number of protein grams and add a zero, or multiply by 10.

2️⃣ Match that number to the number of calories.

3️⃣ If the number you have for protein is equal to or greater than the number of calories, then congratulations, you have a winner! This means your favorite protein bar is 40% or more protein and high in protein.

If not, you may want to re-think your protein bar choice or consume in moderation.
