Since I transitioned my business to business coaching for Coaches, Fitness Professionals and Healthcare Professionals who want to transition their business online, I’ve been speaking with a lot of Coaches and FitPros about helping them to grow their online business – ESPECIALLY since the start of the quarantine two months ago.

In these conversations, there is ONE COMMON MISTAKE that many of them are making when it comes to lead generation, and converting leads to paying customers…

These Coaches and FitPros FAIL to convert leads into paying customers because they DON’T HAVE A SYSTEM TO COLLECT LEADS.

If you’re a Coach and true Coach Archetype, then you want to serve your audience, customers, and clients.

Therefore, you always operate from a place of service and give TONS away for free.

A perfect example is, at the beginning of the pandemic, Coaches and FitPros were giving everything away for free, (and still are)…

As a result, they generated a boat load of leads, but did not have a system in place to collect the leads, so their leads are all still out there on the internet.

Maybe you are one of these Coaches or FitPros AND, as a result,

You generated loads of interest and leads…

Which is GREAT, BUT,

You didn’t put your Entrepreneur hat on and think about how to monetize from the free content and stuff you are giving away.

You probably don’t even realize that you’re leaving mucho money on the table because you’re not converting your leads into customers.

Maybe you’re thinking, “How do I do that??”

==> The FIRST STEP to monetizing starts with collecting LEADS and having a system to collect leads.

You want to make sure that you are using an email marketing application to collect emails.

You want to do this for two reasons:

1. What if Instagram (or whatever social media platform you are using) goes away?
2. It’s a concrete system to collect leads so that you can engage with them and build a relationship with them on email via weekly (or more frequent) newsletters.

Most Coaches and FitPros I speak to, do not, at all, have an email marketing application that they are using OR they have one and they are not using it.

This is a HUGE mistake because not only are you not collecting leads, but also, you are missing an entire marketing platform from which to market to your customer and monetize from for your business.

==> The SECOND STEP is the “What next?”.

Now that you have this lead, what product or program are you going to sell them?

9 times out of 10, when Coaches and FitPros have a freebie and give content away for free they are not putting their Entrepreneur hat on and thinking “What next?”.

You want to create a product or program RELATED to the freebie, that you can sell to your leads after they receive the freebie.

If you missed both of these steps, then you are probably struggling to monetize off of the content and freebies you are giving away.

DON’T WORRY! You are not alone.

And if it makes you feel any better, I made these same mistakes, very early on in my online business.

6 years ago, I ran a free challenge and collected 300+ leads but then completely missed the SECOND STEP and had not thought, at all, about “What next?”.

Therefore, I had nothing to sell to the 300+ leads once I had them on my list.

Yes, it’s great that I added 300+ contacts to my list, but it would have been INCREDIBLE had I presented them with a paid offer to buy immediately after the challenge while they were still pumped up from the challenge.
