The day after Christmas I woke up and was DONEāļø.
Done withšš½
āPacking up our apartment for a week
āDriving cross country for another week
āNot exercising for a week
āBeing out of my regular walking, lifting, and nutrition routine for 6-weeks because of the interstate move from New Orleans to Las Vegas
And itās not over yetš¬.
We donāt move into our new house until sometime next week and the last POD will get unloaded on January 7th.
So that means, I have 2 more weeks of moving, unpacking, settling in, scrappy workouts, fewer daily steps than my norm, and generally being out of my regular routine.
Moving across the country is no joke. I know because this is the 3rd time Iāve done it, and itās very easy to say F it all, and not even try to keep up with exercise and nutrition, especially during the holidays.
But, thatās not my style, and thatās not what I teach my clients.
š„My 6M Midlife Metabolic Method is not a diet or temporary fix, itās a LIFESTYLE of having standards that keep you in some semblance of your lifting, walking, and nutrition routine even when youāre living out of an AirBnb and all of your belongings are spread out between storage, your car, and suitcases.
Iāve done my best to stay on track with my nutrition – prioritize protein, eat green veggies, choose higher fiber carbs, steer clear of processed sugar+alcohol, get steps in when I can, and get back to workouts, no matter how scrappy, now that Iām not driving 500 miles a day for 5 days.
The day after Christmas, I did my first workout after the drive from Nola to Vegas with the kettlebells we packed in our car and even though I am sore AF right nowš„“, LOLš, it felt so great to lift, move, swing, and sweatšŖš½š¦.
